איך אנחנו מתמודדים עם השדים של ימינו?

 המחזה 'הדיבוק' מאת שלמה אנסקי מעלה שאלות אלו, ואליהן מתייחסת אמנותית קבוצת KULA הבינלאומית, הכוללת אמנים מכל העולם . המחזה, שנוצר בגליציה, מספר סיפור אהבה חסידי-יהודי, שנכתב במקור ברוסית ומשלב בתוכו רכיבים קבליים. הוא עוסק במיסטיקה הפרסית העתיקה.

ההתמודדות עם גבולות שמנסים להפריד בין בני אדם לעולמות שנראים בלתי ניתנים לגישור הוא נושא שמופיע ברבים מעבודות קבוצת KULA.

 "בזמנים של מלחמה, התקשורת בינינו כבר כל כך קשה שלא לדבר אחד עם השני ולהתכנס בתוך המגנים שלנו זו תגובה טבעית. עם הפרויקט "דיבוק – בין (שני) עולמות", קבוצת KULA מנסה דווקא את ההפך הגמור.  שחקנים ושחקניות משבע מדינות מנסים לעשות את הבלתי ייאמן בתקופה הזו. לשוחח אחד עם השני, להתערב ולקוות להמשיך להיות מעורבים בזמן שהמלחמה משתוללת. לחיות היכן שאפשר, להעביר מסרים בווידאו היכן שלא. לא לשתוק מתוך כבוד לכאב של אחרים הופך להיות המסר האמיתי. אך אם אנחנו רוצים לקחת את הגיוון של הייצוגים השונים על הבמה ברצינות, עלינו גם לשנות את ההבנה שלנו של תיאטרון פוליטי. לא לדרוש עמדות משותפות בזמן משבר, אלא לשמור על הגיוון של הפרשנויות השונות, להתמודד איתן, זו הניסיון להעמיד מענה לשפת הנשק. לחפש מילים וגם לחוות את הכאב שבשתיקה מתוך כבוד ולא כהשתקה."

What forces from the past take possession of our bodies? How can we give them space and attention without them gaining power over us? How do we deal with our present day demons?
The Dibbuk by An-ski poses questions that the transnational KULA Company, with artists from all over the world , addresses artistically. The play, which was created in Galicia, tells a Hasidic-Jewish love story, , with Kabbalistic components, which takes up ancient Persian mysticism and makes. The examination of boundaries that attempt to separate people into seemingly insurmountable worlds can be found in many of KULA Company’s works.

Cooperation in times of war

»In times of war, it is already so unspeakably difficult to communicate with each other that silencing each other and retreating into one's own bastions is so obvious. With the project 'DIBBUK – between (two) worlds', the KULA Compagnie is making exactly the opposite attempt. Shortly after the start of rehearsals, an actress in Iran is evacuated from Tehran to Mashhad on the same weekend because Israeli attacks are expected. And a colleague from Haifa is probably unable to get to Berlin in time for rehearsals because Israeli airspace has been closed due to imminent attacks from Iran. Actors and actresses from seven countries are attempting the almost unimaginable these days. Talking to each other, getting involved and hopefully staying involved while the war rages. Live where possible, via video messages where not. Not falling silent in respect for the pain of others becomes the real message. But if we want to take the diversity of the different representations on stage seriously, we must also change our understanding of political theater. Not to demand common positions in the crisis, but to keep the diversity of diverse interpretations in play, to endure them, is the attempt to counter the language of weapons with something. To seek words and also to experience the pain of silence as respect and not as silencing.«
